Membership is open to California olive oil producers and professionals associated with the industry (Industry Affiliates, Retailers and Private Label Entities). *

The COOC member year runs from July 1 to June 30 annually. Memberships expire after 1 year. Renewals must be completed by August 15th or within 45 days of your renewal date. After this deadline, renewing members are subject to a $50 administrative fee.

*All members must agree to the Statement of Mission & Code of Ethics, and abide by the COOC rules and regulations as noted in the COOC Member Standards & Requirements.

*Service providers and friends of the industry are encouraged to join at the Industry Affiliate Tier.

*All members, regardless of production or affiliation, may upgrade to any higher level.

*If you don’t wish to join online, you may download a hard copy of the membership agreement and return to the COOC by email or post (mail to COOC, attn: Membership 2020-2021, 801 Camelia Street, Suite D, Berkeley, CA 94710).

*The COOC is member-based and financed non‐profit 501(c)6 trade and marketing association. Your contribution of support is greatly appreciated.

      1. You will be prompted to provide information about your company and the representatives that will be in a working capacity with the COOC.
      2. You will digitally sign the Agreement and complete payment.
    2. Payment can be in the form of either a check or credit card.
      1. Checks should be made out to the COOC and mailed to 801 Camelia Street, Suite D, Berkeley, CA 94710.
        1. In the memo line of the check, please include:
          1. Company Name (if not already visible on check)
          2. Order Number (provided after “Place order” is selected)

      1. This is a condensed version of the 2020-2021 Membership Agreement, including only those pages required to be returned to the COOC.
    2. Download and Save As the document to an electronic folder in your hard drive or cloud service.
    3. Open the document from the folder you saved it in and populate all relevant fields.
      1. This version has been modified to allow members to populate the fields electronically.
      2. Note: do not fill out the file in a web browser, you will not be able to save your responses. You should open the document from the location you saved it.

For olive oil producers, Tier levels are dependent on an average of your total production over the last three consecutive harvests (2017, 2018 and 2019). In the case that you do not have the data for the ‘three year formula’, the tier level at which you register should be based off your estimated production for the 2020 Harvest.

Micro-producer Tier Membership

Micro-producer: 99 gallons or less


Grower Tier Membership

Grower: Non-producers

This tier is for companies that are:

  • growing olives for olive oil but, do not produce themselves
  • new to the olive oil industry but, have not started to produce olive oil


Tier 1 Membership

Producers: 100 – 500 gallons


Tier 2 Membership

Producers: 501 – 2,500 gallons per year


Tier 3 Membership

Producers: 2,501 – 5,000 gallons per year


Tier 4 Membership

Producers: 5,001 – 20,000 gallons per year


Tier 5 Membership

Producers: 20,001-75,000 gallons


Tier 6 Membership

Producers: 75,001 gallons or more per year


Retailers and Private Label Entity Membership

Retailers and Private Label Entity Level

This tier is for retailers of extra virgin olive oil and companies that source olive oil from producers to sell under their own brand label.


Industry Affiliate Membership

Industry Affiliate Level

This category is to include companies that provide industry resources and services to olive oil producers and growers but, are not producers or growers themselves. Companies include but, are not limited to: Nurseries, Mills, Orchard management, Packaging Providers, Marketing, Consultants, Restaurants & chefs, Orchard equipment suppliers, Equipment and installation and Graphic Design
