Lone Oak Olive Oil
Carpenter Canyon near Arroyo Grande, CA
Since 1992 SLO Grown Produce has sold gourmet vegetables at Farmer’s Markets in San Luis Obispo County. Our certified extra virgin olive oil, sold under the name Lone Oak, is a Tuscan blend from Leccino, Frantoio, Pendolino, Taggiasca, and Maurino cultivars. An estate grown oil, it is produced using sustainable farming practices including natural soil amendments, drip irrigation, hand pruning and hand-picked harvesting. The Arroyo Grande coastal climate, marine sandstone soils (with fossil scallop and clam shells) and southwest facing slopes are a perfect combination to grow our vigorous Tuscan varietals. Our olives are milled by Foxdale Farms and together we form an award winning team! Lone Oak olive oil has a fruity nose and taste, slightly grassy on the palate with a mild pepper finish.
ABOUT OUR GROVE
Sustainable, conscientious farming methods are used growing olives for oil. The Lone Oak orchard of 650 trees is located at the Double SS Ranch, established 1968 by the Smith family in Carpenter Canyon, near the village of Arroyo Grande, California. From this orchard we produce our green labeled, coastal influenced, Carpenter Canyon estate oil.
In 2014 we leased an additional 500 tree orchard from Alta Cresta, featuring Leccino, Frantoio, and Pendolino cultivars. From this orchard we produce our gold labeled Alta Cresta estate oil, located between Templeton and Creston, east of the Santa Lucia mountain range.
